How frequently are you able to come?
This depends on your needs, but we aim to arrange regular or one-off visits that suit your garden and schedule. We also have a Year-round garden maintenance package to ensure your garden receives priority care if you so wish.
Do you have a team of gardeners?
At the moment, it is just one fully trained and experienced gardener. About the gardener
Do you have your own tools?
Yes, Garden Regeneration supplies all its own tools and equipment.
Do you take garden waste away?
Due to limited vehicle capacity, we are unable to take garden waste away. However, we can discuss options like green bin collections or home composting during the initial consultation.
Do you still come when it’s raining?
Yes, I continue to work in light rain, but I assess the weather to avoid working in conditions that might hinder your garden. Tasks like pruning or clearing hard surfaces are prioritised over digging or planting in wet soil for instance.
Do you use weed killers or other strong chemicals?
No. Garden Regeneration follows RHS best practice and avoids pesticides and herbicides in weed control. Rather, we focus on soil improvement, manual weeding, organic control methods and supporting natural ecosystems for long-term resilience.
Please note: I am unable to work in gardens where lawn pesticides have been applied within the last 4 weeks (6 weeks in dry conditions). Kindly notify the office at least 24 hours in advance if pesticides have been used and we will look to rearrange.
Do you source and purchase plants?
Yes. I can design, source, and plant up borders as part of our service. We don’t mark up plant prices, and may be able to offer trade discounts through selected suppliers.
I will be going out. Does that matter?
Not at all. Please just ensure any necessary access—such as garden gates or sheds—is arranged in advance.
Do you work all year round?
Yes. While extreme winter weather may reduce activity, work continues year-round. Winter is ideal for pruning, planting, and mulching.
I’d like to rearrange our next gardening session. Is that OK?
Absolutely—life happens! Just let me know at least 24 hours in advance so I can offer the slot to someone else.
How do we get in touch if necessary on the day (or at any time)?
For urgent messages, please call or send a WhatsApp. For general or first-time enquiries, email is preferred: gardenregen@gmail.com
Are you self-employed?
Yes, I am self-employed—but I am also open to new and exciting employment opportunities within the horticultural sector, so feel free to get in touch.
What is your gardening rate?
For current rates, please email gardenregen@gmail.com. Rates vary depending on the type of work required and are reviewed annually in line with changes in living costs, fuel, tools, insurance, and professional guidance from the Gardeners’ Guild.
Please note that quoted rates also include the time spent on administration such as scheduling and invoicing. After factoring in tax, National Insurance, insurance, pension contributions, and allowances for holiday and sick pay, the gardener’s actual take-home pay is typically 40%-50% of the quoted rate.
How should I pay?
Payment can be made via cash, cheque, or bank transfer. Invoices are sent by email and include payment details.
If you wish to discuss any of the above, please feel free to email the office at gardenregen@gmail.com.
Thank you.
