Terms and conditions

These Terms & Conditions outline the basis of services provided by Garden Regeneration. By booking gardening services, you agree to the following:

1. Services

  • Services include regular or one-off visits tailored to your garden’s needs.
  • A year-round garden maintenance package is available for clients who wish to secure priority care.
  • Work is carried out by one fully trained and experienced gardener.
  • We offer AM/PM slots, but not exact times. PM slots are any time from 12pm. If you do require an eta, you are welcome to message the gardener on the day if this has not already been discussed.

2. Tools & Equipment

  • Garden Regeneration supplies all tools and equipment required for the work unless hire equipment is required.

3. Garden Waste

  • Due to limited vehicle capacity, unfortunately garden waste cannot be removed from site.
  • Alternative options such as green bin collections or home composting will be discussed during the initial consultation.

4. Weather Conditions

  • Work continues in light rain where practical.
  • The gardener will adjust tasks to suit weather conditions, e.g. prioritising pruning or surface clearing over digging in wet soil.
  • In extreme weather, sessions may be rearranged for safety and effectiveness. The gardener will make a decision prior to coming out.
  • No charge will be incurred for any sessions missed due to wet or very hot weather. If work is cut short, then the chargeable rate will be pro-rated.

5. Chemicals & Pesticides

  • Garden Regeneration does not use weed killers, pesticides, or other strong chemicals.
  • Organic and manual methods are prioritised in line with RHS best practice.
  • Work cannot be carried out in gardens where lawn pesticides have been applied within the last 4 weeks (6 weeks in dry conditions). Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance and preferably longer where possible, if pesticides have been used.

6. Plant Sourcing

  • Plants can be selected, sourced, and planted on request.
  • Trade discounts may be passed on where possible. Any time spent on planting design and sourcing may be chargeable if conducted outside of the hours previously agreed.

7. Access and site conditions

  • Clients must ensure appropriate access to gardens, gates, and sheds.
  • It is not necessary for clients to be present during visits.
  • Clients must inform us at least 24 hours in advance, and preferably longer where possible, if other tradespeople will be working on site at the same time. We reserve the right to reschedule work if deemed appropriate.

8. Year-Round Work

  • Services are available year-round, with reduced activity during periods of extreme weather or due to the growing season.
  • One session per month of gardening work through the winter is all that’s required to secure priority care of your garden in the busiest periods of the year.
  • Garden Regeneration cares deeply for the welfare of wildlife. During bird nesting season (generally March to August in the UK), heavy work on hedges, trees, and large dense shrubs where visibility is limited is usually postponed until the months of August through February. However, work is always considered on a case-by-case basis and we reserve the right to delay work should it be deemed appropriate.
  • Trees and shrubs should always be checked for active nests before arranging any work with us. Please notify us with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if any new nests appear, so that work can be postponed without risk of incurring a charge.

9. Cancellations & Rearrangements

  • Sessions may be rearranged with at least 24 hours’ notice. As much notice as possible however is appreciated so that work can be postponed without risk of incurring a charge.

10. Communication

  • For messages on the day, please use messaging or WhatsApp.
  • For general or first-time enquiries, email is preferred: gardenregen@gmail.com.

11. Employment Status

  • Garden Regeneration is registered as self-employed, sole trader.

12. Rates & Payment

  • Current rates are available upon request by email.
  • Rates vary depending on the type of work and are reviewed annually from January each year.
  • Quoted rates cover administration time (scheduling, invoicing, research etc.) as well as work on site.
  • After tax, NI, pension contributions, insurance and allowances (e.g. tools, petrol), the gardener’s take-home pay is typically 40% of the quoted rate.
  • Invoices are issued by email. Payment is accepted via bank transfer, cheque, or cash.

13. Liability

  • Garden Regeneration is not liable for damage or delays caused by extreme weather, restricted access, or failure by the client to provide accurate information (e.g. pesticide use).
  • Clients remain responsible for their own property, pets, and garden waste disposal unless otherwise agreed.
  • Garden Regeneration is fully insured.

14. Amendments

  • These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically. Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
